We were the first clinic with the Titan device. Titan delivers infra-red light to the support tissues under the skin, heating them up and making them shrink. Collagen fibres made up of microscopic coiled-up spirals. Slowly they uncoil, aided by constant use, sun, smoking and gravity. Just as your favourite woollen jumper will shrink in the washing machine (remember that wool fibres have been teased out and stretched so return to their normal shortness on heating), your collagen fibres can also be encouraged to return to their normal shortness and elasticity.
Titan delivers a controlled heating light that is not designed to hurt. It warms the tissues. First of all the areas most subject to stretch and most likely to respond are marked with a white pen. These are the so-called vectors. Then the treatment begins. The eyes are protected from the light and the Titan head is placed over the skin and dragged for one or two centimeters as the heat is building up. Just as you feel that the heat will become intolerable, the cooling current comes in. The cycle is repeated all over the face several times until a visible result is seen. Once treated, the skin is a little red but this quickly subsides after half an hour. Make-up can be applied immediately after.
Two treatments are required, four weeks apart. Some improvement is seen after the first treatment but it is only after the second that the results really become apparent. A maintenance treatment is recommended every year, but many clients enjoy the collagen stimulating effect so ask for the treatment every three months.
Titan can be used on the face and the body. Titan is particularly recommended to tighten the abdominal skin after pregnancy. |
