It is one of those things in life where the simplest of ideas often turn out to be as effective as the most complex technology. Dermaroller is one of these.
According to recent research, the Dermaroller will give the same results as the Fraxel laser without the down time or the discomfort.
Dermaroller is a means of stimulating the skin’s natural ability to heal, to tighten and to generate volume. It looks like a paint roller on a small scale and is covered in tiny needles. Each needle is finely engineered to create a trauma-free hole in the dermis that stimulates fibroblast activity and kick-starts the healing cascade.
Dermaroller is recommended for scars; acne and traumatic in particular. It is also recommended for the treatment of crepe-like and sun damaged skin on the face and the chest area. It will add volume to the face through stimulation of natural collagen and achieves a lift through its tightening and volumising effect.
Numbing cream is applied to the face for a good half hour beforehand, then the face is cleaned of the cream and the treatment begins. The roller is very gently moved over the face with no pressure at all applied by the therapist. The skin becomes red and a few little bleeding points are seen. This is the end point. The roller is then moved to another area of the face. It takes about half an hour to treat the whole face; a further half an hour if the décolleté is treated. The treatment is not painful.
The face is cleaned and a soothing and healing cream applied. The face will be red as sunburn when you leave and will remain like this for up to three days. Apply the creams that we provide and you will start to see results once the redness has settled.
Dermaroller recommends three treatments six weeks apart, but many people are happy with just one treatment. For more information go to www.dermaroller.com |
